Alanya, in the south of Turkey, is one of the most beautiful cities on Riviera at the so-called “bluecoloured coast”. It lays in front of the mountains with red earth, high above the sea and surrounded by to large sandbeaches and beachpromenades with hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants. History tells, that Queen Kleopatra also like to walk on the enjoyable sand and to swim in the blue ocean. There for the Roman Antonius gave her Alanya as a present. Alanya is ideal for holiday: comfortable, elegant, with a lot of green, avenues and also in winter with a good, balmy climate.

Alanya is one of the important centers of Turkey for fruit and vegetable culture. The land is good for growing lemon, oranges and bananas and woods of Aleppotrees (20m high)and Libanon trees.

You can find special titbits in Alanya. You should try “grilled mutton dumpling” with vegetables and on coal grilled fresh fish.

The red tower: The red tower is one of the attractivst architectonical Sights of Alanya. It is a mighty, eight cornered, 33 meter high tower, which looks down on a nice garden.
The order to build the red tower came from Alaadin Keykubat, the seldschukish sultan anno 1226. Its name “Kizil” (red) it became because of the red stones it is made of. “Kizil Kule” is 33 m high and goes over 5 floors. Inside you find the äthnografic division of art museum Alanya. Especially the costumes of the osmanic period, hand-made weave chairs and textil works can be seen.

The boatyard: The antic boatyard, which was built in the period of sultan Keykubat, has 5 docks, is 7m wide and 43 m deap. It was built 2 years later than the “red tower”.

The Alanya castle: The half-island, on which the castle stands, was because of the difficult accessible situation from sea and land side everytime sattled on. At last the selschucian people build a monumental castle, which is retained very good up to today. The castle of Alanya is the beautifulst and solidest of anatolic castles. On the castle walls, which are 6500 m long, are 140 bastions. The towers and bastions, which are totally made of stone and mortar, have fire notches, pitch noses and dam rounds to make the defense of the soldiers easier.

Damlatas Cave: The cave is found in the west of the half-island. The Damlatas beach was named after this cave. Inside with stalagtids and stalagmids in several colors has the cave a permanent temperature of 22-23 degree. It is proofed that the cave helps with asthma of allergic type and rheumatism. The cave has a constant liquid of 90-100 %. The air is filled with a high grade of carbon. With the boat you can make wonderful tours to the near grottos. The fishers like to bring you for a few money to the romantic Grotto of love or to the impressiv phosphor cave, which has a sparkling blue ground.

Dim cave: The second biggest dripstone cave in Turkey you need to see. Up to 15m hights, it extends to a length of 360 m. Stalagmids, stalagtids and dripstone flags offer a unforgetable impression. Afterwards you can eat fresh grilled fish at the well-known river Dimcay.

Dim river: The Dim river is in the east of Alanya, 6km from the center. It arrise from the Taurus mountain side and goes to the middle sea after 60km. The water of the river is not only in winter cool, although in hot summertimes, so that you can find coolness. Along the river side you find a lot of restaurants, where you can sit with your feet in the water for eating.

Ulas beach: 5 km from center on the left side you find the Ulas park and the nice Ulas beach, one of the best places of the region. For people who like to enjoy a picnic are tables, fire places and toilets in the park situated.
